Lunch

Every day of the week, one person cooks lunch for the rest of the office. There’s no hierarchy – the directors are very much part of the process and every one is equal (some are more equal than others of course). There’s six of us, so it works in rotation with a team of two on one of the days. It is a great way for us all to spend social time together whilst providing a suitable forum for discussing the less serious day-to-day matters. Menu, serving, clearing up, washing up (stacking the dishwasher actually), making coffee. Everyone has their turn and everyone mucks in. An every day approach to team building!
So what do we cook? Well there’s been Thai Green and Thai Red Curry, Duck Noodle Soup, a Chinese Buffet, Winter Soups, all sorts of pasta, risottos, lasagna, the famous Moussaka that was presented as ‘Lasagna without the Pasta’, heaps of salads, chicken dishes, veal milanese, beef curry, grilled lamb cutlets, baked potatoes. Lots of fresh coffee. Fresh strawberries, ice-cream. Chocolate. Recently, thanks to our Spanish intern, we have sampled some amazing Spanish Tapas; blood sausage, bacalao, peppers… the list goes on.
In case you are wondering, it does not interfere with work at all. Rather, it enhances the atmosphere in the office and provides the necessary break in the day. It may also explain why we are never available for meetings between noon and 2.
If you would like to join us for lunch drop us a line and we will see what we can do.
